User Interface Technologies for the SAP® Enterprise Asset Management Solution
User interaction with SAP applications comes under criticism for complicated and overloaded user interfaces, non intuitive user guidance, to be inhomogeneous and not state of the art. This workshop gives an overview for the new user interfaces for Enterprise Asset Management to overcome this censure. A new UI based on SAP NetWeaver Business Client will be introduced from a user’s point of view explaining which functionality is covered and how it relates to classic applications. Subsequent to this application oriented introduction, SAP NetWeaver Business Client will be explained from a technical point of view, how the user interface is defined and how it can be personalized. Finally SAP Visual Business is discussed. SAP Visual Business is a new visualization technology to create 2D or 3D scenes where business content from SAP applications can be visualized in a completely new graphical environment.

Workshop 5:
Driving Maximum Efficiency in Operation and Plant Management
Deregulation of energy markets, the increasing demand for improved plant availability and efficiency and reduction of operating and maintenance costs are focal issues for today's power generation industry. Thus, a more centralized approach for Power Generation Management is needed at the plant level as well as on the enterprise level. Management requires a complete, reliable and current view of the overall situation of the enterprise and its plants:
- to be able to set strategic targets, operational goals, and to quickly uncover performance deviations
- to monitor and control the effectiveness of the business processes
- to evaluate and benchmark the quality of the work and production results
- finally to achieve bottom line results in terms of revenue, costs and profits
Workshop Facilitators:
Stefan Lichtenberger, Senior Business Consultant Power Generation, Siemens AG, IT Solutions and Services
Klaus-Peter Hitzel, Product Manager SPPA-M3000 EMS, Siemens AG, Energy Fossil IE
