Petter Allison is Director of Smart Metering, leading the transformation programme to deliver smart metering across British Gas’ 16 million energy customer accounts. This includes business design, technology and systems, process change, customer operations, and economics. Petter has held a range of roles in Centrica, including heading metering & payments, Head of Commercial in both residential energy and home services, corporate strategy & development, M&A, telecoms and broadband development, and Commercial Director for BG Deutschland. Petter started his career as a Project Economist working in Africa and Asia for multilateral finance institutions.
Kurt Bachmann, Project Leader, Axpo Informatik AG
Kurt Bachmann dipl. El. Ing HTL conducted postgraduate studies in Business Administration and Information Systems. After a 22-year career in various positions at a larger distribution network operator, Kurt joined Axpo Informatik AG 3 years ago in a new role as Project Manager for market opening issues. In this role he successfully implemented various projects in connection with SAP EDM. He is a member of the VSE Energy Data Commission and has also actively participated in the development of the standardized data exchange (SDAT) for the Swiss market.
Professor Ronnie Belmans, K.U. Leuven
Ronnie Belmans received a M.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering in 1979 and a Ph.D. degree in 1984, both from the K.U.Leuven, Belgium, a Special Doctorate in 1989 and a Habilitierung in 1993, both from the RWTH, Aachen, Germany. Currently, he is a full professor with the K.U.Leuven, teaching electric power and energy systems. His research interests include the techno-economic aspects of power systems, power quality and distributed generation. He is also guest professor at Imperial College of Science, Medicine and Technology, London. Since June 2002 he is chairman of the board of directors of ELIA, the Belgian transmission grid operator.
Miquel Carbo, Utilities Industry Business Specialist, SAP

Partha Chakraborty, Partner, IBM
Partha Chakraborty is a Partner with IBM Global Business Services (GBS) and has 15 years of experience in management consulting, owning customer relationships and directing business units. He has directed and program-managed some of the world’s largest SAP implementations such as at Nestle and Philip Morris International and has been responsible for designing, setting up and running Centers of Excellence for some of the largest organizations in the world – helping them accelerate their global business systems deployment programs.
Dr Maher Chebbo, VP, Head of Emea Utilities & Services Industries, SAP
Dr Maher Chebbo has over 20 years of experience in technology, IT, communications and power industries. He is currently Vice President of Utilities, Communications and Services Industries for Europe, Middle East and Africa at SAP AG. Maher joined SAP 13 years ago where he co-founded the corporate venturing & innovation unit (SAP INSPIRE) focusing on strategic innovative and disruptive technologies within the energy sector.
Before joining SAP, Maher worked for 6 years as Senior Program Director for power and communication industries at Cap Gemini.
Maher holds membership at a number of groups including the Advisory Council of the European Commission ETP “SmartGrids”, the Governing Board of REEEP (Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Partnership – NGO) and ARMINES (a company managing 50 R&D centers of Ecole des Mines de Paris). He is also co-chair of the ICT Consultation Group for Energy Efficiency of DG-INFSO and VP of ESMIG (European Smart Metering Industry Group).
Maher co-founded an innovative German renewable solar energy startup. He holds Engineering and PhD Degrees in Energy from Ecole des Mines de Paris and a Masters Degree in Management, Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Investment.
Kahraman Dinçer, Information Technologies Strategy and Operations, Kayserigaz
Kahraman has worked in the IT departments of several companies between 2000 and 2007. He has been working as Strategy and Operations Responsible in information technology at Kayserigaz since 2007. He was the project leader in the Kayserigaz SAP Project. The scope of the project covered ERP, CRM and ISU implementations as well as SAP-GIS integrations.
Carlo Doni, Local Information Manager, EnBW
Born in Italy, Carlo Doni graduated from the Universities of Padua and Stuttgart. He also studied at the “Akademie für Datenverarbeitung“ in Böblingen, Germany. Following this in 1994, he took up the role of Project Manager at the Eastman Kodak Company in Stuttgart, Germany.
For the last 9 years, Carlo has worked as a Local Information Manager at EnBW Kraftwerke AG, also in Stuttgart.
Volker Enders, Managing Director, Meridium
Volker joined Meridium in October 2006 and became Managing Director of the new office, Meridium Europe GmbH, in Walldorf Germany. He was formerly a Business Development Manager of SAP Germany in the utilities, waste and telecommunications consulting division. Before that position he was a Managing Partner and Founder of an SAP consulting firm for 14 years. From 1988-1990 he was an employee of Arthur Andersen where he developed the SAP R/2 solution RIVA (today IS-U/CCS).
Stefan Engelhardt, Head of Business Unit Utilities, SAP
Stefan Engelhardt studied Geology and Geography at the University of Heidelberg where he went on to become Associate Professor between 1991 and 1994 for the Institute for Geography. In 1995 he joined the utilities industry working for Technische Werke Ludwigshafen where he held the position of Head of Energy Consulting and Customer Service. In 1997 Stefan joined SAP as Product Management Specialist Utilities, was then promoted to Global Product Manager Utilities in 2000 and became Head of Global Business Development and Head of Field Service EMEA for the utilities industry in 2003. In 2007 he was appointed as Head of Industry Business Unit Utilities.
Mehmet Ensari, Information Technologies Manager, Kayserigaz
Mehet worked for İGDAŞ (İstanbul Gaz Dağıtım Pazarlama A.Ş.) from 1995 to 2007. He held several positions within the information technology department of the company. Since 2007, he has been working as IT Manager in Kayserigaz. He was, at the same time, the project manager of SAP implementations in Kayserigaz. The scope of the project covers ERP, CRM and ISU implementations as well as SAP-GIS integrations.
Florian Ganz, Business Unit Manager, Energy4U
Florian started his professional career in 2002 working as an intern at SAP AG in Germany. Until 2005 he worked at SAP in various development and consulting departments including several months abroad at SAP America and SAP Japan. After graduating in 2005, Florian became a member of the global SAP active global support department focusing on mobile workforce management solutions. Until 2008 he supported more than 35 mobile projects all around the globe delivering consulting services in the area of SAP Mobile Infrastructure & SAP Mobile 7.1 including SAP's mobile business applications.

Miguel Gaspar Silva, Industry Director Utilities, SAP
Miguel holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA. He has worked within the IT Industry since 1993. Since starting at SAP in 1997, Miguel has participated in different implementation projects at various key utility companies across Europe.
Since 2005, Miguel has been part of the industry business solutions Team in SAP EMEA + India with responsibilities in business development across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and India.

Hisham Gouda, Utilities Industry Principal, SAP
Hisham Gouda is a SAP utilities industry principal based in Dubai, UAE. He is specialized in supporting implementation of SAP including industry solutions with expertise in enterprise asset management. His knowledge spans nearly twenty-three years of industry experience in engineering, procurement, construction, operations, and maintenance. During this time, he worked as a control systems engineer at Bechtel before joining SAP in 1997.

Manu De Jaegere holds the following qualifications; Civil Engineer (RUG 1981), MBA (ULB 1983) General Management Cycle INSEAD Fontainebleau (2001).
He began his career at Intercom NV, one of the three Belgian utility companies and was responsible for several operational and support activities. In 1999 he introduced SAP for Electrabel’s distribution activity in Flanders. At the opening of the electricity market he was Program Manager, first for the net company and later for the new supply company.
In 2006 he was nominated Program Manager for an ambitious program (STAR) to harmonize and integrate all ERP functionalities for four countries - Benelux and Germany. Early in 2010, STAR was successfully completed.
Steve Jenner, Senior Solution Business Consultant, Syclo International
After many years in the mobile technology industry, Steve Jenner joined Syclo in 2009. At Syclo, he works as a Senior Solution Business Consultant, directly responsible for advising SAP and utility companies on technical best practices with Syclo mobile applications. Steve delivers Syclo customers both conceptual understanding and product implementation steps during presales engagements. Wayne Johncock, Head of Enterprise IT, British Gas
Wayne is currently responsible for the overall solution architecture, and enterprise IT strategy and planning for British Gas. Wayne has been involved with IS-Utilities since 1998, working in 6 different countries on delivering the solution in electricity, gas, water and waste water utility companies. Dr. Walter G. Kienle, Chief Solution Expert EAM, SAP
Dr. Walter G. Kienle is currently working as Chief Field Solution Expert for EAM in the industry business unit for utilities at SAP AG. He is located at the SAP Headquarters in Walldorf, Germany. He takes care of utilities customers worldwide.
Dr. Walter G. Kienle started work at SAP in 1984 and is one of the co-founders of the plant maintenance application at SAP. He is also one of the initiators of the service management application at SAP and stepped in as development manager for this application in 1993. From the very beginning he was involved in customer projects in the utilities industry, and so he moved over in 1997 to the industry business unit for utilities as development manager for enterprise asset management. In the following years he also had responsibilities for the waste and recycling industry. In 2006, he took over his current position as Chief Field Solution Expert. His focus is to support large customer projects and to act as architect for enterprise asset management in asset intensive industries.
Dieter Körber, Head of Solution Management Utilities – IBU Utilities, SAP
Dieter has worked in the utilities industry since 1983. Since his start at SAP in 1993, Dieter was involved at SAP Consulting in various SAP for utilities implementation projects at utility companies across Europe. Since 1998, Dieter has been part of the industry business unit utilities with responsibilities for the energy related products within the SAP for utilities solution (IS-U, energy capital management, energy data management, AMI, smart metering, smart grid and deregulation).
Dieter also contributes to many different working groups (e.g. Advisory Customer Council Utilities) to enhance and adapt the SAP for utilities solution towards new and changing market requirements.
Peter Koop, Solution Adviser Expert, SAP
Peter Koop is 43 years old and holds a Diploma of the University of Karlsruhe in Germany for Business and Engineering and a Master of Commerce from the University of Canterbury in New Zealand. He has 15 years of experience in the utility industry, 12 years of this at SAP. Currently he is responsible for the business development of the utility retail business in EMEA. Since 2007 he has also been member of the supervisory board of SAP AG.
Mariano Kristensen, Solution Principal Platform, SAP
Argentinean born Mariano Kristensen acquired his university degree from Copenhagen Engineering Academy in Production and Manufacturing – Logistics.
He joined Ericsson Sweden in 1997 where he held various positions in the area of IT. Before joining SAP, he headed a team of enterprise services architects at L.M. Ericsson.
In 2004 Mariano Kristensen started his career at SAP Denmark as Principal Consultant in the area of NetWeaver. Shortly after commencement, his international profile resulted in many international assignments for leading European companies all over EMEA.
Now again based in Copenhagen, he serves as Business Development Director - Global Field Operations, overseeing the design, rollout and execution of Business development programs in the area of SAP Platform and Technology Solutions.
Ed van Leeuwen, Chief Information Management, Brabant Water
After graduating from the Haagse Hogeschool, Ed van Leeuwen started his IT career in 1989 at the defence organisation of a large Dutch research institute (TNO). His first assignment was to develop a module of an expert system for aiding damage control officers (Damocles). From 1995 to 2003 he transferred to a small software company (Antares Informatisering) and took several positions, including field operations manager and manager of the business operations office.
In 2003 he returned to TNO to explore and commercialize the field of information and knowledge management. His view on the possibilities of supporting tools (e.g. a firm relationship-based intranet), opened the opportunity to develop the standardized information desktop (Spider) for every TNO employee, which lead to being manager of system development.
In 2008 Brabant Water changed its ICT organisation to address the need to team up with its internal customers by creating a separate Information Management department. Ed joined Brabant Water in February 2009 to elaborate and manage this department.
Stefan Lichtenberger, Product Manager M3000 EMS, Siemens AG
Stefan Lichtenberger has worked for one year with Siemens IT solutions and services as Senior Business Consultant for the power generation industry. His career has followed the entire project lifecycle, starting from sales, engineering and commissioning for various process industries. With nine years in power generation, it is a main focus in his professional career. For the last eight years he has focused on operational IT and its contribution to improve asset performances.
He has a university Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering.
Michael Lutz, Solution Expert, SAP
Michael Lutz works in solution management EAM with the Industry Business Unit Utilities at SAP AG, Walldorf. His current responsibilities cover roll-in, solution definition, and roll-out of solutions for wind power plant management as well as mobile asset management. Michael joined SAP in 2001 and holds an Industrial Engineering Degree.
Maher Maamari, Managing Director, Middle East/North Africa, Meridium
Maher has more than 22 years of managerial and technical experience in the reliability, information technology, automation, and engineering fields. Maher is responsible for Meridium’s operations, sales, and services, across the Middle East and North Africa.
He graduated from the University of Houston (Texas, USA) with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration.
He joined Meridium’s Houston office in 1997, with experience as a Systems Engineer, Software Engineer, Product Manager, and Project Manager in the oil and gas industry. Maher has directed and managed many Meridium projects including ones at Saudi Chemical, BAPCO, ChevronTexaco, Qatar Gas, RasGas, SABIC, Qatar Chemical, Saudi Aramco, ExxonMobil, and Ameriven. Prior to Meridium, he was responsible for all aspects of project implementation and management for real-time leak detection and pipeline simulation.
Karen Marlor, Operations Business Change Manager, United Utilities
Karen has over 20 years experience in the water utility industry. She has worked for United Utilities in a number of senior operational roles including management of field based teams and centralised work planning. Karen has also managed various business improvement projects for both the Connections and Operational businesses and supported the development of standard operating models.
Over the last 18 months she has been the Operations Business Change Manager for the development and implementation of the SAP workforce management programme which utilises SAP CRM, ECC, MAM, BI, ClickSoftware & E-respond to deliver improved customer service, work & asset management.
Axel Memminger, Solution Management Utilities, SAP
Axel Memminger is a Senior Solution Expert with 14 years SAP experience.
He started at SAP AG in 1996 as Senior Consultant and was involved in many IS-U/CCS and RIVA implementations. Early in1998, Axel supported the regional implementation group utilities in the roll-in process in several European countries and coordinated the development of the BW-Content for IS-U/CCS. He is presently a Project Manager within ESB Networks IT application programme.
Kevin has had over 20 years experience in electric utility business processes and has substantial experience in programme, project and work management.
Thorsten Paasche, Project Lead-Functional, RheinEnergie AG
Thorsten completed his studies in 2005 at the University of Rostock where he gained his Degree in Mathematics (Dipl. Math. oec.). He then worked as a Project Manager at Gerling Group where he was involved with risk data management.
Following this in 2007, he secured a position at RheinEnergie AG in Project Management. Here his role included workforce management, system splitting in line with deregulation requirements and smart metering.
Peter Rügge, Managing Director, CX4U
Peter has been working in the gas market for more than 15 years; he is the founder of CX4U and has worked in several capacities within the utilities market, for example at RWE and EDS. Peter was one of the originators of CX4U`s SAP IS-U-based software product coregas@edm. His experience includes both mid-stream and down-stream markets. He wrote his dissertation on the deregulation of the European gas market.
Christian Kofod Schjerning, Lead IT Consultant, Dong Energy
In his current position in Dong Energy, Christian works as an IT partner for B2B, B2C and finance. His role includes making sure that the business strategy and the IT strategy is aligned. The main goal is to ensure that the IT department provides IT solutions that support the business – and not the other way round.

André Sorge, Solution Expert, SAP
André Sorge works as a Solution Expert in the utilities industry sector, specializing in enterprise asset management for power generation, transmission and distribution. André is based at the SAP Headquarters in Walldorf. He joined SAP in 1998 as a software developer in plant maintenance modules and over time, moved to product and project management tasks and responsibility. Before André joined SAP he graduated as Industrial Engineer and worked as a Mechanical Engineer.
Rajneesh Kumar Srivastava, Head of IT Department, Indraprastha Power Generation Company Limited and Pragati Power Corporation Limited
Rajneesh graduated from the National Institute of Technology, Durgapur with a Degree in Mechanical Engineering, subsequently also achieving post graduate diploma in Management, Computer Applications and O & M of Thermal Power Plants subsequently. Having 20 years experience within the power sector in various positions, Rajneesh secured his current role within IPGCL & PPCL in 2006. Here, he took charge of the IT department, spearheading various initiatives to restructure the IT division and generally changing the organization’s thinking towards IT and MIS. Responsible for the implementation of SAP ERP as Project Manager, Rajneesh successfully performed gap analysis, business modelling and BPR within the group.
Rajneesh has considerable teaching experience within the field and has produced numerous papers and presentations, including a book on ERP.

In 1991 he joined Gasunie, the Dutch natural gas transmission company. Within Gasunie he designed natural gas pipelines and stations and he worked for a few years at Gasunie Research carrying out external safety and risk assessments.
His next step was within Asset Management defining inspection and replacement policies for gas pipelines and components. In his present position he is a Pipeline Integrity Management Specialist within the operations department.
Mr. Stallenberg is a member of the national standardization committee of the NEN 3650 pipeline code. He collaborated in the Dutch technical specification NTA 8000 Pipeline Risk Management Systems and he is currently convening the development of a CEN-standard for pipeline integrity management.
Burkhardt Stutenz, Head of Business Solutions, EnBW Systeme Infrastruktur Support GmbH
Burkhardt Stutenz has been the director of the “Business Solutions” IT division at EnBW Systeme Infrastruktur Support GmbH since 2006. He is responsible for developing innovative and tailored IT solutions within the EnBW Group. It is his job to record the wide variety of structures and processes within the corporate group and its companies in their full complexity and to turn them into technical services as required.
A Business Administration graduate, he acquired his wide range of experience and skills in earlier stages of his professional career – among others as a systems analyst at Hoesch AG, Dortmund. He proved his substantial knowledge of SAP over 20 years as a managing partner of the SAP system supplier TOPAS Consulting GmbH, a subsidiary company of RWE. His duties included strategic and operational corporate planning, human resources and sales. His sales-related profile is reflected, for example, in the acquisition and management of key accounts, sales activities in foreign markets and setting up and leading teams of consultants.
Tim Suchner, IT Architect, CX4U
Tim's focus at CX4U's development department is mainly based in the segment of capacity and nomination management as well as in the market communication of coregas. He holds a Master’s Degree in Computer Science. He has worked in the gas market for several years. Tim also participated in different implementation projects of SAP IS-U/EDM and coregas@edm at key utility companies in Europe.
Dr. Orestis Terzidis, Vice President, SAP Research
Orestis Terzidis, who holds a Doctorate Degree in Theoretical Physics, started to work for SAP Labs Sophia-Antipolis in 1998 as an Application Developer. He then joined SAP AG in 2000 as assistant to Henning Kagermann, CEO. Since 2004 he has lead the SAP Research Center in Karlsruhe, first as Director and from 2008, as Vice President.
As member of the SAP research leadership team he has contributed to a variety of topics including IT for energy networks, the use of semantic technologies in business applications, software engineering for the next generation business applications, secure computing, and information technologies for emerging economies.
Orestis Terzidis is member of various different working groups or advisory boards such as the working group Internet of Services of the Federation of German Industries (BDI AG IdE), the Research Center for Information Technology Karlsruhe (FZI), the Fraunhofer-Institute of Optronics, System Technologies and Image Exploitation Karlsruhe (IOSB) and the Innovation Lab, Heidelberg.
Massimo Vegetti, Utilities Industry Principal, SAP
Massimo holds a degree in Mathematics from the University of Pavia. He has worked in the IT Industry since 1995, and has participated in utilities complete life-cycle implementations projects with different CIS solutions, for different divisions and in several countries.
Since 2000 he has been working at SAP Spain in different positions, from Consulting Expert to Project Leader and since 2007 as Utilities Industry Principal mainly focused in the Iberian Market.

Marcel holds a Masters Degree in Computer Science. He has worked in the gas market for more than 4 years. Since he started at CX4U, Marcel has participated in different implementation projects of SAP IS-U/EDM and coregas@edm at key utility companies in Europe. His skills have a strong emphasis in all gas allocation processes.
