Award ceremony MAINTAINER.SAP 2003

As every year the delegates of the 8. mySAP Asset and Service Management Congress voted for the best SAP based maintenance solution.

The regional capital Stuttgart convinced the audience with its CAD based administration tool for public parks, gardens and trees and won the “MAINTAINER.SAP 2003” award, closely followed by ThyssenKrupp Immobilien (Workman-Interface) and Alcan Packaging (BDE-Interface),

The Stuttgart department for Park and Graveyard Administration managed to defy the commonly-held prejudices about council administration with its geodata administration project. Data is entered via handheld computers and interfaced to SAP PM. Result: The data is always up to date and quickly available, which saves time and money. The audience awarded the first place for this advanced and modern solution.

ThyssenKrupp Immobilien GmbH came second with its workman-interface. The implementation of this interface shortens the time required to act, enables the inclusion of small jobs in the existing maintenance process, lowers legal expenses and reduces manual processes. In short: it saves, simplifies, accelerates and increases quality at the same time.

A joint second place was awarded to Alcan Packaging Singen for the unusual SAP PM implementation with interface to the production control MES Feedback System (mpdv HYDRA), which forms part of the SAP PP module. Before the implementation workmen time was recorded manually on a document. Now the time recording is simplified and occurs without the need for paper on a machine touch-screen. Other benefits are the computer based analysis of shutdowns and machine weaknesses and the replacement of the manual `machine book´.

The “MAINTAINER.SAP” award is donated by the SAP AG and T.A. Cook Consultants. Its aim is to highlight the importance of successful maintenance and technical service related IT projects as contributing factor to a company’s productivity.

A panel of experts choose the three most promising submissions.

The three finalists were judged by all congress attendees with the winner receiving 3.500 Euro and the runner-up 1.500 Euro. This was the fourth time the annual prize
