"Shaping the future. Guiding together the real estate management of the future" – this was the motto under which the SAP Congress for the Real Estate Industry was held in Potsdam, for the first time organised in co-operation with T.A. Cook.
We are very happy that this year the number of visitors grew once again, and more than 500 participants were in attendance! This robust community, including customers, partners and SAP, met this year for the eighth time to exchange experiences on all aspects of real estate and property management.
This congress is the platform for the subject of real estate management with SAP solutions; over the last few years it has enjoyed increasing numbers of both participants and exhibitors.
The presentations:
A large number of well-known companies and SAP staff members and partners collaborated to present reports on the beneficial effects which had been achieved, current developments and future trends in commercial real estate developments with SAP. Due to the large number of interesting presentations, this year we expanded our agenda to include four areas:
- Product information
- R&D in practice
- Trends& highlights, and
- a focus on medium-sized companies.
Experiences were conveyed in the areas of balanced scorecard and risk management, integrated property management, funds accounting, facility management processes, the digital real estate record with SAP Records Management, and much more, as well as numerous solutions, both within and outside the SAP product range.
Together with its customers, in these two days SAP and its partners demonstrated once again that they can provide a solution for the management of residential and commercial property and all branches of industry.
On top of numerous presentations, staff members of SAP Solution Management reported on the latest developments by SAP Real Estate Management in mySAP ERP 2005 and the Enterprise Services Architecture. There were also two keynote speakers: Dr. Peter Kruse, an expert for change management, provided insights into how companies can successfully transform themselves using change management. Dr. Hans Hinrich Schroeder-Hohenwarth, Spokesman of the German Federal Agency for Real Estate Administration, provided examples of how the German Federal Property Administration has, between the conflicting priorities of bureaucracy and management, become a central real estate service provider for the Federal Government.
The workshops supplementing the congress:
Workshops on the 20th and 23rd of June provided an opportunity to spend an entire day working on the possibilities of SAP solutions – either to obtain a comprehensive overview of its functionality or to deepen one's knowledge of specific topics such as real estate controlling or maintenance management. |
