Introduction of teamwork
With the goal of significantly increasing productivity in the division, the management of one of the leading manufacturers of printing ink also introduced teamwork as an important tool for enhancing efficiency.
All technical employees were trained in teamwork. Their former supervisors (e.g. master workmen) now co-ordinate the work of a number of teams. To manage the teamwork, a special organisational system was introduced which encompasses all of the tasks of a team: administrative tasks, personnel issues, quality management, etc.
An important role for the long-term success of the project was played by the integration of each team member into responsibility for a specific area, and the continuous employment of training and educational programmes.
